Today I got some really sad news. John B, who is one of my favorite local Atlanta musicians has died. He was in a motorcycle accident. I always had this connection with the guy. He was rock and roll though and through. He loved it lived it and I guess you could say died from it but not in the way we all thought. We all thought John would end up dead from a drug overdose, because he struggled for many years with a terrible addiction to all sorts of stuff. But the drugs could  not kill him, a stupid machine did. Although I am sure he was speeding or something like that. But that all is not the point. It’s really so sad that such a colorful and talented person just is gone like that. I was never really close to the guy or anything but I thought he was just beautiful. He was a guitarist by craft.  I’ll never forget the first time I saw him walk in the room and the first time I saw him play. He was a shred master. He was really a very visual player but also his sounds were amazing. He was in a band with my brother for a little while. I only really have seen him a couple times as of late. I’m glad last time I saw him he was clean and seemed to be doing very well for himself. Knowing that I will never hear his playing again is so sad. Not ever hearing him crank out Concrete Blonde and Pantera songs is gonna really suck and he will be missed. RIP MY METAL BROTHER. GODSPEED
